Introducing a new and very talented writer and his first brilliant book

You can tell somebody is a good writer when his/her’s books are easy to read. A good author should try to produce a work, which can be compared to a delicious dinner. It ought to be flavoursome, packed with interesting and exciting ingredients and leave the reader with the feeling that he/she has just enjoyed partaking of a treat that will not be soon forgotten. Up until a month ago, I had never heard of Danny Breslin. I didn't feel any diminution in the quality of my life, from not having made his acquaintance. There was no gaping hole in the heart of Christopher Antony Meade, caused by the aching loss of not having Danny Breslin in my life. Then I came across an ad on Amazon for his book “Me and Gus On The Roof Of The World”, downloaded it and then read it.

Now I do feel a void starting to grow in my arterial pumping machine, because that book was just so dammed enjoyable that I didn't want it to end. Danny Breslin is a very good writer. His book really does tick all the boxes and I can’t wait until his next literary venture comes out. The following is the review of his book, which I put on Amazon. It barely does justice to his work, but I hope it might encourage a few readers to explore the work of this very talented young man.

“I like a book that tells a story and tells it well. I've got no time for those authors who bamboozle the readers with reams of pseudo-philosophy and dissertations on their version of how the world can be put to rights. The main part of the book deals with the writer's experiences, in coping with and recovering from, the effects of altitude sickness. Normally, I would expect a book written by somebody remembering a traumatic and miserable experience, to be a dull and depressing read. The wit and the talent for character observation, which Mr Breslin brings to his account, left me with a feeling that I had just read a really enjoyable and engagingly charming volume. I have no hesitation in recommending it to all and every person, who enjoys reading a cracking great tale. Even people who hate books will love this one. Treat yourself to a copy. You won't regret it”.

Those are my thoughts on Danny's book. I would like to end on a more personal note though. The world of online publishing can be very cutthroat and vicious. There are many people out there, who just want to screw over their rivals. It is not unheard of for authors to deliberately post bad notices, in order to damage the prospects for success, of potential competitors. Danny Breslin is definitely not of that miserable breed. He behaves generously, and like a complete gentleman, towards all the rest of the writing family. When he can help, with good advice, he will offer it and he is not above showering praise, on other people's work, when occasion arises. Put simply, he is an all-round good guy, who has written an all-round great book. I wish him every success.
